President of the Montgomeryshire Area Scout Group Mick Bates AM
today congratulates the work of Scouts across Wales, as they held an
exhibition at the Senedd to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the
founding of the Movement.

Scouts of all ages demonstrated some of their activities and
displayed some of their new skills and techniques being taught to
young boys and girls of all ages, faiths and cultures across Wales.

Praising the work of Mid and North Wales Regional Officer, Clive
Bracewell, as well as the many volunteers who keep the Scout
Movement across Wales in operation, Mick comments:
“The work of the Welsh Scout Council is vital to our Scout Movement
in Wales. I congratulate the many dedicated workers who devote their
time and energy to helping these young people become responsible and
resourceful adults.
“Scout leaders across Wales work hard to ensure our young Scouts
achieve their full potential as individuals and as members of our
local and international communities.
“I am always extremely impressed by the diverse knowledge and skills
demonstrated by Scouts in my local group in Montgomeryshire and I am
pleased to be involved in the group as their Area President.
“In the Senedd today I was particularly pleased to see the Scouts
promoting healthy living through outdoor activities and healthy
eating. I enjoyed a wonderful healthy fruit cocktail prepared by the
group.
“We discussed the importance of using locally sourced food in our
meals and I was amazed by the understanding of the young Scouts of
this issue. I would like to thank the Scouts for welcoming me to
their exhibition today.”
