Montgomeryshire AM Mick Bates has reiterated his support to rural Police following David Cameron’s visit to the area.

Mick said: “I have had numerous meetings with the local Police over the years and share there concerns over funding levels and bureaucracy.”

“It is my personal belief that Dyfed-Powys Police is understaffed when you take into account the vast area which they cover. Wales as a whole is missing out on £50million of Police funding which equates to 998 Police Officers – 137 of whom would have been allotted to the Dyfed-Powys force.

"I launched a petition earlier this year following this discovery, which I have passed onto the home Office."
