People in Montgomeryshire
need more government support to help them tackle climate change.
That was the view today from Welsh Liberal Democrat AM, Mick
Bates.
Speaking from the campaign trail ahead of next week's Assembly
elections Mick said:
"People in Montgomeryshire care about the environment. All you
have to do is look to see how Powys tops Wales' recycling poll to
see that!
"Both individuals and communities want to do all they can to
battle climate change. However, their will has been hampered by a
lack of support.
"The Welsh Liberal Democrats want to change this. We know the
battle against climate change starts at home and in the community.
We want to provide support by establishing a body called "Climate
Connect"
"Climate Connect will be a one-stop shop where people from
individual households or communities can go for advice, grants and
loans with a view to generating their own renewable energy. It
gives local people a local say in how they want to generate their
own energy
"A vote for the Welsh Liberal Democrats on May 3rd is a vote for
taking climate change seriously. It is a vote for supporting
households and communities. It is a vote for Climate Connect. It
is a vote for our future.
