Montgomeryshire AM, Mick Bates will be visiting Llandinam post office and talking to sub post master Alan Griffiths on Tuesday 22nd May at 11am

Speaking ahead of the visit Mick said:

"As the Labour Government in Westminster announce that 2500 post offices across the UK would close by 2009, I want them to see a Post Office success story right here in rural Wales.

"I met up with Alan Griffiths recently and was impressed with the way his post office operates. Not only does it offer traditional post offices services, it offers a banking service and is a local shop.

"Post offices are central to the make up of our communities. The Labour Government want to close them down. Alan Griffiths' Post Office in Llandinam shows how post offices across the country can work."
