Mick Bates, Welsh Liberal Democrats AM and
Chair of the Sustainability Committee today welcomed the decision
by the Rural Development sub-committee to look into the recent
independent scientific report into Bovine TB.
Mick Bates, who is also a farmer in Llanfair Caereinon said:
“Bovine TB is bringing financial ruin to farming businesses across
Wales, and putting a real strain on the communities they operate
in.
“I hope this inquiry will bring us real solutions to halt the
spread of this disease, which is a blight on farming in Wales.
"Successive governments have failed to take the necessary action
to stop the spread of Bovine TB, and as a farmer I consider it to
be the most pressing issue for agriculture today. It is worse than
foot and mouth disease.”
