Local AM, Mick
Bates is inviting people to have their say on Renewable energy
systems in Mid Wales.
He will be
chairing a public meeting on Friday 7th April at Kerry
Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm.
Speaking ahead of
the meeting, Mick said: "Renewable energy is possibly the biggest
issue affecting people in Mid Wales at the moment. In the last year
we have seen the publication of the now discredited TAN 8 document.
That has generated strong opinions. Opinions that need a forum to
be expressed in.
"From my point of
view TAN 8 has become a major disappointment. It has focused too
much on one form of energy - large scale on-shore wind and has lost
its community focus. Community needs to be heart of developing
sustainable energy. The wood boiler in
Llanwddyn is an example of
a development that benefits the local community. As fuel bills
rise, local energy production will become more and more important.
"I'm looking
forward to good meeting on April 7th. I have chaired a
number of meetings like this all over the county in recent months
and they have all been a success. Let's hope this one is no
different!"
